about Sheila

Sheila Cosgrove is a personal and professional life coach certified by New York City’s famous Open Center.

Sheila is dedicated to helping her clients excavate their inner truths and then live according to those truths.  
She offers powerful questions, multi-layered insights, and intense compassion.  She strives to help people
through transition, especially young women overwhelmed by life choices.  One of Sheila’s goals is to help
women harness their power to create a more peaceful world.

Also the News Editor for an online women’s magazine,
WomenMatter.com , Sheila writes a column about
politics' influence on women's everyday lives.  She has written for publications as diverse as Newsday, The
Gay City News, and Teen People.com.  She has an M.A. in Women’s Studies from The New School for Social
Research in New York City and a B.A. from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she graduated
Magna Cum Laude.

Sheila studies yoga and meditation, and her coaching is influenced by principles from those disciplines. She
lives happily on Long Island with her little family – her husband Christopher and her beautiful kittens Hiro
and Sachie.
